Viswam is an action thriller starring Gopichand, directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The movie revolves around a young man, Gopi (played by Gopichand), who goes on a mission to protect a girl whose life is threatened after she witnesses a murder. The film combines elements of action and comedy, but unfortunately, it struggles to break away from a predictable and outdated storyline.
While the plot itself may not offer much in terms of originality, Gopichand’s performance shines through. He delivers a solid portrayal of a hero in a routine action-packed role. His screen presence and action sequences are among the better aspects of the film, and his dedication to the role is evident. The supporting cast, particularly Vennela Kishore and Pruthvi, provide some comedic relief, but their performances don’t significantly elevate the film. Kavya Thapar, playing the female lead, looks stunning but does little to make an impression beyond her glamourous role.
The film’s cinematography by K.V. Guhan is another highlight. The visuals, especially in outdoor action sequences, are well-shot, and the production values are commendable. Music by Chaitan Bharadwaj complements the film’s atmosphere, though it doesn’t stand out as a memorable soundtrack.

Despite these positives, Viswam falls short due to its sluggish pacing and weak writing. The narrative feels repetitive, relying on clichés and stale action sequences that fail to engage the audience. The comedy, although present, lacks the impact needed to balance out the more intense moments. The film’s second half, in particular, feels monotonous, and the predictable climax does not offer the excitement it should.
In conclusion, while Viswam has its share of solid performances and technical merits, it doesn’t manage to bring anything new to the table. It remains a routine action film that fails to impress in a genre that demands more innovation and excitement. For fans of Gopichand and routine commercial action movies, this film may offer some entertainment, but overall, it falls short of expectations.
